Our Leadership

Pastor Andy Grenier and his wife Laura

Pastor Andy has been the lead pastor of First Baptist since January of 1997. Laura is our church secretary and serves in several ministries in the church. Pastor makes this observation about his time here at First Baptist. Laura serves as our church secretary and truly is the glue that holds us all together. Her smiling face in the office is a blessing to so many!

“Our congregation is like many in that we take seriously the process of spiritual growth in order to be like Christ. It has been my privilege and honor to serve with a group of people who understand the importance of seeing people come to Christ, growing in their faith and then teaching others. We love one another from the nursery children on up to grandma and grandpa and that love has been such a blessing over the years. 2 Timothy 2:2 is a common theme that runs through the mission and purpose for our church. “And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

Pastor Josh Michalek and his wife Hannah

Josh was called as pastor of First Baptist Church starting in August of 2025.

Josh made the most important decision of his life when he trusted Christ as Savior when he was only five years old. As he continued to grow in Christ, he felt the Lord calling him to serve God with his vocation. By the time he went to college, he was following God’s leading toward service in China, and he earned a B.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language at Bob Jones University.

Then Josh made the second most important decision in his life: marrying his wife Hannah! After finishing a Master of Divinity degree at Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, Josh and Hannah moved to China. They served the Lord for six years there teaching English and sharing about Jesus. They returned to the States in 2019, where they lived in Flint, MI. There Josh was an associate pastor at North Baptist Church until 2025.

One of his favorite Bible verses is Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.

Zane and Ruth Voorhies

Zane and Ruth began serving as the Children and Youth Ministry Coordinators at First Baptist Church in February 2023.

Both were blessed to grow up in Christian homes and came to know the Lord as children. Their shared faith has been the foundation of their lives and ministry since their marriage in October 2016.

Zane graduated from Walla Walla University in 2009, and Ruth served in the United States Air Force from 2006–2011 before earning her degree from Bergen Community College in 2013.

From a young age, both Zane and Ruth were actively involved in children’s ministry at their home churches. Those early experiences sparked a deep love for the Lord and a passion for discipling the next generation. Today, they count it a joy and calling to invest in the lives of children and teens—encouraging them to grow in faith, walk with Christ, and discover the joy of serving Him.
